Madonna and Child and Two Angels

Title and Date of Work: Madonna and Child and Two Angels
Name of Artist: The Master of San Luccese
Exact Location: Accedemia Gallery; Florence, Italy
Medium: Gold Ground Panels
Dimensions: 65.4cm by 26.1 cm

In the center of this work we see the Madonna and Child enthroned with twelve Saints, and God the Father above. To the left we see the Adoration of the Magi with the angel of the annunciation above. To the right we see the crucifixion with the virgin annunciate above. This Trinitarian work is particularly interesting because it combines two different, but similar, symbols of the Trinity. In the very top of the center panel there is a triangle and a typical sign of the Trinity, a rounded shape with three parts, merged together into one.
